LUNGO ER TEVERE

ALL ROADS LEAD TO …THE TIBER

The Tiber, historical river, will be the stage of an important cultural initiative from lungoertevereJune 14th to August 31th. Lungo er tevere (Along the Tiber) include music, exhibitions of photography, music, markets, shows and more..

The initiative’s aim is to promote the area along the river and to give a new entertainment area not only to tourist, but even to all the citizens who are not leaving the capital for holidays.

The long promenade along the Tiber is getting even longer this year, passing all the major bridges as TeverePonte Garibaldi and Ponte Sisto, where lots of open markets (so called bancarelle in italian) have been set of all kinds, from local handicrafts to stands of gastronomy with products typical of other regions like Sicily, Sardinia and Calabria and for every taste…

Cinema junkies can instead appreciate the Festival of short films and every sportaholic will be glad to know he can cycle even in the middle of the night thanks to the illuminated paths along the river.

The popular memory of Rome is evocated with an exhibition of photography of the unforgottable Italian actor Alberto Sordi, who died just 5 years ago, and on weekends  shows of local singers will get on Ponte-Vittorio-elabstage the most famous lyrics of the Roman tradition.

The atmosphere will be enriched by the presence of artists painting portraits and landscapes “en plain air”.

Do not miss this terrific opportunity, book your stay with us at YES HOTEL, taking advantage of incredible summer sales, and Rome along the Tiber.
