The show arrives in Rome on the 17th of July at the Capannelle Racecourse in Rome .

The concert seen in Italy recently has conquered the public, who are always accustomed to seeing an artist that has been on the seen for twenty years and remains relatively unchanged in his brilliant style. The comments were unanimous: “a compact design and enriched by the bands horn section”, “a mature artist that has kept the freshness of his early years”, “a production of high level and above the ladder of success as few others can achieve”.

He has played many of his fantastic songs and most certainly will again such as, “Always on the run”, “American woman”, “Fly away” and “Are you gonna go my way”, to name but a few.

Lenny will be joined of course by, “Gail Ann Dorsey on bass”, “George Laks on keyboard”, Craig Ross on guitar”, “Frank Vanderbilt on drums”, “Harold Todd on the sax”, “Gabrial McNair on trombone” and “Ludovic Louis on the trumpet”.

Its sure to be a spectacular show so don’t miss it and don’t forget to write us or visit our website to get the best accomodation in Rome at the most affordable rates.

One of the most important art galleries in Rome,Galleria Borghese houses part of the Borghese collection of paintings ,sculptures and antiquities.

The museum is located inside a suggestive landscape garden,Villa borghese, the largest park in Rome after Villa Doria Pamphili and Villa Ada, surely the nearest to an ideal of eternal beautiness as the number of buildings, museums, and attractions that it contains. Also in Villa borghese or nearby you will find the Galleria Nazionale d’arte moderna,Villa Giulia,Villa Medici,Casa del Cinema.

As regards the Galleria Borghese, here you can admire some of the most important creations by Antonello da Messina,Giovanni Bellini, Raffaello,Tiziano,Correggio,Gian Lorenzo Bernini,Canova,Caravaggio. On my opinion, among all the famous works that are inside its twenty rooms, some sculptures of Bernini are worth to be seen for theirs dynamism and for the virtuosism, such as his Apollo and Dafne. If you are an art lover you must visit at least once in your life Galleria Borghese and from december 2011 for three months 65

masterpieces given by Camillo Borghese to Napoleon in 1807 will return in Rome and be replaced inside the gallery. It’s an event not to be missed, and our hotel will be pleased to accomodate you in Rome!

Janiculum, or Gianicolo in Italian, is the second highest hill in the contemporary city of Rome and separate from the famous seven hills of Rome. The Aurelian wall made it’s way up the Janiculum hill in order to include inside the walls of the city the water mills that were used to grind corn and make bread.

Locals often come here for a walk as the park provides a welcome escape from the hectic streets of the city. There are also some activities for children to enjoy here like an authentic puppet theatre.

Many tourists head here just to see the magnificently beautiful view of Rome from the top of the hill, however there are other interesting things atop this hill…..

The largest monument on the janiculum is the Garibaldi monument, an enormous equestrian statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi, honouring the italian patriot’s heroics on this hill in 1849.

Another monument can be found here, a formal arched memorial with the inscription ‘Roma o Morte’ (Rome or Death), honouring the other Italian patriots who died in the Italian independence wars between 1848 and 1870.

And one more magnificent thing to see is the Fontana dell’Acqua Paola, a monumental baroque fountain built in the early 17th century by pope Paul V.the fountain was built here to celebrate the reopening of an old roman acqeduct, originally created in 109 AD by emperor Trajan. The fountain was named after the pope.

This is one of the most beautiful and interesting places to visit in the eternal city and it is worth your time to take a look. To reach the Janiculum Hill from the center of the city, Hope you enjoy.

The Body Worlds exhibitions are the first of their kind. They use an extraordinary and fascinating process called plastination invented by German anatomist Dr. Von Hagen to preserve biological tissue.

The invention was a ground breaking method by Dr. Von Hagen in 1977 but it was not until the early 90’s that the equipment to make it possible to plastinate whole body specimens was developed.

The exhibitions show the whole bodies plastinated in life-like poses and dissected into various structures and systems of human anatomy allowing visitors to see and better understand about anatomy, physiology and health.

The exhibition also shows the long term impact of diseases, the effects of tobacco consumption and the mechanics of artificial supports such as knees and hips.

Each exhibition featires more than 200 real human specimens, including whole bodies plastinated, individual organs, organ configurations and transparent body slices with each specimen taking up to 1,500 man hours to prepare.

According to the Body Worlds website, more than 32 million people have viewed the exhibition in 50 cities worldwide. Right now the exhibition is being hosted in Rome in the Officine Farneto, via monti della farnesina 73, tram 2 from piazza Flaminio so it’s your chance to learn about the fascinating subject of anatomy.

From next October and until January 29 2012, the Victoriano complex will be housing an exposition of Piet Mondrian, one of the greatest painters of the 20th century.
Even if you don’t know Mondrian by name, we are usure you have seen some designs inspired by his characteristic squares. This was Mondrian’s strategy to achieve a pure, non-representative art.
Mondrian was born in Holland and later in life emigrated to the United States where passed away in 1944, and his works are some of the most influential examples of modern art of the 20th century.
The Victoriano Complex is a short bus ride away (bus 40 from Termini) from Hotel Des Artistes or Yes Hotel.

The Italian Cup 2010/2011 will be played on 29 May in Rome, at the stadium “Olimpico” between Inter and Palermo.

The Sicilians secured a spot in the final after a shock 2-1 defeat of newly crowned Serie A champions AC Milan in Sicily, completing a 4-3 aggregate victory.

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has issued a warning to Inter; the fiery club president promises that his team will beat Massimo Moratti’s side

“Now we’re going to the final and we’ll beat Inter 3-1,” he said.

Although he’s predicted a win, it’s clear that he is nervous.

“I will only celebrate after we’ve won the Italian Cup.”

The 1-1 against Roma has allowed the “Nerazzurri” to pull the pass for the final act. The decisive goal was scored by Eto’o. The condition of Eto’o is probably the best news for the “Nerazzurri”, in view of the final rush.

The final is a very important match for Inter. If they don’t want to disappoint fans, they must win this match. When these two teams play, we can alway expect lots of goals and a lot of emotions. Contact us today to make a reservation at Yes Hotel and Hotel Des Artistes and live this and many other surprises Rome has in store for you!

Vinicio Capossela has earned a special place in the Italian musical scene for his idyosincratic mix of Italian folk music and literary references. Next May the singer will offer a concert in Rome to perform some of the songs from his new album, inspired by the sea.

This event will end the first part of the tour that Capossela will resume next summer, with new shows inspired by the sea (as the myth wants). “Marinai,Profeti e Balene” (Sailors, Prophets and Whales) is Capossela’s new album, edited three years after his previous work “Da solo”. The new album, inspired by the sea, is full of sounds, stories and characters, typical of Capossela; it includes songs taken from important literary works like Melville’s “Moby Dick”, Louis Ferdinand Céline “minore”, or Coleridge’s “Ballad of the old Mariner”; furthermore, Capossella often references the “omeric” classic mythology re-visiting the “Golia”, Aedo, the Syrens of Ulisses and the “Nostos”(a feeling seamen get when they are travelling).

Caposssela is an artistic, curious, and playful man; his performances are a mix of music, theater and literature. He recorded voice and piano for this album in Creta Island, Berlin , Milan and in the “Aragonese” Castle on Ischia Island because, he says, “it’s a place of asceticism and there, you can always hear the sound of the sea”. Capossela defines “Marinai,Profeti e Balene” as “Marina Commedia”, “a metaphoric album about the great questions of mankind”.
