This exhibition will display some of the foundation’s impressive collection of abstract, expressionism, pop-art, minimalism, post-minimalism, conceptual art and photo-realism.

In the period represented by these pieces in this exhibition the Guggenheim grew from a small showcase, focused on European abstract art to becoming a global institution for contemporary art. Through forward-thinking exhibitions and a bold collecting practice, the Guggenheim has not only important contemporary works for posterity but has been an active force in some of the most innovative and controversial movements in the second half of the 20^th century.

Pete Doherty is the probably the most famous English-speaking rock musician of the past ten years. He has been able to renew the English sound and influence many Brit Bands that followed in the footsteps of The Libertines and Babyshambles.

First with The Libertines, then Babyshambles and now alone, he has made his mark in the world of rock n’ roll.

In 2009 he played a concert here in Italy and now in 2012 he returns to showcase some music from his new solo album.

The concert seen in Italy recently has conquered the public, who are always accustomed to seeing an artist that has been on the seen for twenty years and remains relatively unchanged in his brilliant style. The comments were unanimous: “a compact design and enriched by the bands horn section”, “a mature artist that has kept the freshness of his early years”, “a production of high level and above the ladder of success as few others can achieve”.

One of the most important art galleries in Rome,Galleria Borghese houses part of the Borghese collection of paintings ,sculptures and antiquities.

The museum is located  inside a suggestive landscape garden,Villa borghese,the largest park in Rome after Villa Doria Pamphili and Villa Ada, surely the nearest to an ideal of eternal beautiness  as the number of buildings,museums, and attractions that it contains.Also in Villa borghese or nearby you will find the Galleria Nazionale d’arte moderna,Villa Giulia,Villa Medici,Casa del Cinema.

As regards the Galleria Borghese, here you can admire some of the most important creations by  Antonello da Messina,Giovanni Bellini, Raffaello,Tiziano,Correggio,Gian Lorenzo Bernini,Canova,Caravaggio.On my opinion, among all the famous  works that are inside its twenty rooms,some sculptures of  Bernini are worth to be seen for theirs dynamism and for the virtuosism,such as his Apollo and Dafne. Locals often come here for a walk as the park provides a welcome escape from the hectic streets of the city. There are also some activities for children to enjoy here like an authentic puppet theatre.

Many tourists head here just to see the magnificently beautiful view of Rome from the top of the hill, however there are other interesting things atop this hill…..

The largest monument on the janiculum is the Garibaldi monument, an enormous equestrian statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi, honouring the italian patriot’s heroics on this hill in 1849.

Another monument can be found here, a formal arched memorial with the inscription ‘Roma o Morte’ (Rome or Death), honouring the other Italian patriots who died in the Italian independence wars between 1848 and 1870.

And one more magnificent thing to see is the Fontana dell’Acqua Paola, a monumental baroque fountain built in the early 17^th century by pope Paul V.the fountain was built here to celebrate the reopening of an old roman acqeduct, originally created in 109 AD by emperor Trajan. The fountain was named after the pope.

This is one of the most beautiful and interesting places to visit in the eternal city and it is worth your time to take a look. To reach the Janiculum Hill from the center of the city, Hope you enjoy.

The Body Worlds exhibitions are the first of their kind. They use an extraordinary and fascinating process called plastination invented by German anatomist Dr. Von Hagen to  preserve biological tissue.

The invention was a ground breaking method by Dr. Von Hagen in 1977 but it was not until the early 90’s that the equipment to make it possible to plastinate whole body specimens was developed.

The exhibitions show the whole bodies plastinated in life-like poses and dissected into various structures and systems of human anatomy allowing visitors to see and better understand about anatomy, physiology and health.

The exhibition also shows the long term impact of diseases, the effects of tobacco consumption and the mechanics of artificial supports such as knees and hips.

Each exhibition featires more than 200 real human specimens, including whole bodies plastinated, individual organs, organ configurations and transparent body slices with each specimen taking up to 1,500 man hours to prepare.

According to the Body Worlds website, more than 32 million people have viewed the exhibition in 50 cities worldwide. Right now the exhibition is being hosted in Rome in the Officine Farneto, via monti della farnesina 73, tram 2 from piazza Flaminio so it’s your chance to learn about the fascinating subject of anatomy.

From next October and until January 29 2012, the Victoriano complex will be housing an exposition of Piet Mondrian, one of the greatest painters of the 20th century.
